Fastcrop is a lightweight image editor that runs in your browser. Use it to crop a screenshot, explain something with arrows and labels, highlight a detail, or assemble a simple image collage. No account is required, and your images are processed locally without being uploaded.

Transparency, backgrounds and file formats

The canvas starts transparent. In the canvas settings, choose a solid background color or keep transparency for PNG export. JPG does not support transparency; choose a background and export quality when saving. Fastcrop accepts browser-supported image formats, including PNG, JPG and WebP.

Undo, redo and keyboard shortcuts

Use Ctrl + Z to undo and Ctrl + Shift + Z to redo. Press V to select, C to crop, T for text and A for arrows. Hold Shift while drawing to preserve proportions. Press Esc twice to return to the selection tool.

Privacy and browser requirements

Image editing happens locally using JavaScript and Canvas 2D. Fastcrop does not send your images to a server. Theme and language preferences are saved in your browser when local storage is available. The clipboard buttons depend on HTTPS, browser support and permission; opening files, pasting with Ctrl+V and exporting files provide alternative workflows.

Images and canvas dimensions are limited to 8192 pixels per side. Very large compositions may require substantial memory. Editing history is kept for the current session; export your work before closing or reloading the page.

Languages and themes

The editor supports English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. English and dark mode are the defaults; your selected language and theme are remembered locally. This guide is available in English.
